- Breast implants are used to voluminise the breasts, but cannot reshape or alter the glandular tissue component of the female breast. Breast implants always sit beneath the glandular tissue – whether placed in a sub-muscular or sub-glandular position.
- Glandular tissue also referred as the milk-producing part of the breast is organized into 15 to 20 sections, called lobes. Within each lobe are smaller structures, called lobules, where milk is produced. The amount of fat determines the size of the breast.
